| The AP-less use, dodgy though it is, wouldn't be my main worry: you can get much the same result by using ?commands. Being able to save messages is very nice. But other aspects of the script, especially that it enables you to use the phone when you're not in a suburb with a working phone mast, and even when you're dead, are surely a cheat? | |

| I'd really rather MCM people not use this. It's a cheat.
No satellite phones, okay, guys? MCM does not cheat.

| It looks to me like it has nothing to do with in game phones and is merely an Instant Messaging device designed for UD players. As such it would be no more cheating than using these forums, however to call people on it they would also need to have the script installed.
ex: "It doesn't add to your encumbrance." meaning it isn't an item, it doesn't require you to have a normal phone.

| yup I think daz is right, its just another way of meta-ing really, slightly dodgy perhaps but i have thought about it and its probably not cheating though i wont get it as i dont even use the phone i have!

I just meant the ones listed here. I don't use them, but I've experimented with a few just to see if they work, and they do. Maybe others don't. But tenacious zombies are still using ?rise aren't they?

| Biting people as a human is very popular among our sort of crowd.

equivalent to a punch except for the flavor (text). Can't use guns as a zombie, we've tried. All the ones that could possibly be really unbalancing are blocked.

| Biting someone, given the miserable to hit chances and the 1 HP damage, won't make a difference in actual game play/balance/AP expenditure. This looks to me like a way to get around the 1 AP cost for a phone text message and the need for a genny in the phone mast, which are actual game difficulties. Yes, you can metagame for communication and get around the problems. But the in-game experience itself isn't changed. This changes your game experience. I just don't like it - it really feels unethical to me. | |

| Seriously though Violet, I'm pretty sure it's not exploiting anything. I don't think it has anything to do with the in-game phone system. I think it's just an IM-like script that runs in addition to your normal phone, if you have one.
I'm still not going to use it though, as it's pretty redundant with a forum and would only be useful if everybody downloaded it.
