The map made by Red Rum appears to be broken. Is there another decent quality map out there?

There's yet the wiki: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Suburb#Danger_Map_of_Malton_Suburbs

No route-planning and a bit of pain while switching between burbs, but it gets the job done.

I miss the location search on the Red Rum map. Sad I know... I can just search the Wiki, but it's not as nice.

The map I use as a fallback is this one:

http://map.aypok.co.uk/index.php

Redrum have switched servers, and had to do so in a hurry, it seems. It isn't clear yet whether the map has survived, but I'll post here as soon as I find out.

While I've been using the redrum map when I'm on the go, I have the "Malton Map" program installed at home.

http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Malton_Map

It can help you keep track of your characters and I especially like the highlight feature that will highlight buildings of one type or multiple types. I also like marking revive points in the areas my survivors work in. There are more features of this map that I don't use often but might be useful for some like marking barricade levels and comments for a location and the search feature.

You, ma'am, are a saint.

I appreciate the effort, and I would download that program if I had any other connection type than Dial Up.

I recently got DSL, and I am now downloading this. Thank you.

PostSubject: A very groovy map by Sophie Ames   Fri Mar 19, 2010 1:14 am

This I like http://dssrzs.org/map

  • click on a building and the map centers on that location.
  • click on the three red diamonds at the top left to get back to the suburb map.
  • nearest buildings of various types shown under the map
  • The arrows on the suburb map expand the map (the corner expansion gives a 2x2 burb map)

Great find Gus, that's easily the best substitute for the Red Rum map so far. To your bookmarks everyone!

PostSubject: Greasemonkey script to link to the map I posted earlier   Fri Mar 19, 2010 8:19 pm

Hacked about a few Greasemonkey scripts from here Aichon's page and made this

Adds link to your current location on the map I posted earlier next to the name of the suburb.
Also adds some not so useful mini-map things

(The original authors of the scripts take most of the credit here, I just tweaked a bit).

May conflict with other tools, but udwigdet doesn't work on Linux so I use a bunch of Greasemonkey scripts from Aichon's page instead.

Works in Iceweasel so prob works in Firefox, IE is meh.

Get Greasemonkey first, then go get the script.

If it breaks you get to keep both piece's Smile
