| "Earth Abides" by George R. Stewart.
What's it like to survive a global pandemic, to wander the empty streets in search of anyone, to watch civilization end and start over? The setting happens to be about 30 miles away from where I grew up.

| I've just finished reading 'With The Old Breed' By E.B. Sledge It is a memoir of Sledges fighting in the pacific theater during the second world war and is frankly one of the the most amazing reads I've had in a long time.
Current book is 'Acts Of War: The Behaviour Of Men In Battle' By Richards Holmes which is a study of the way humans react in conflict and military life in general.
I'm studying War and society for my degree, how could you tell?

| Pharmacotherapy: Principles and Practice by Chisolm Burns. Been working on it for two years now. I'd really like to get my hands on a copy of The World Without Us by Alan Weisman, though. | |

It's by Peter Hopkirk. It's about the struggle for Asia by Victorian Britian and Tsarist Russia. Very good indeed. QB

No! You mustn't read that one! Quickly, give it to me, or your Kindle will revoke itself.

Won it as a prize from a radio show, but i'm not here to advertise >_> Ohhh... nice. Let me know how that is. I find works about the real lives of musical geniuses fascinating. No One Here Gets Out Alive (about Jim Morrison) was one of my favorite books of that genre. http://www.amazon.com/One-Here-Gets-Out-Alive/dp/0446602280 Currently I'm reading a self-help/improvement type book entitled, Jam! Amp Your Team, Rock Your Business by Jeff Carlisi of 38 Special. He's a local guy who was a member of one the areas Southern rock bands back in the day. Lots of interesting stuff about local bands from my area, like Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, and more. It's really a different take on a self help book. http://www.amazon.com/Jam-Your-Team-Rock-Business/dp/0470446528/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1269633352&sr=1-1-fkmr0

| Finished yesterday (again): Douglas Adams' So long and thanks for all the fish.
Not yet sure which book I want to pick up next, but after having read the whole Hitchhiker series up to that point in a row, I look for something more serious and action-packed before I finish that line with "Young Zaphod Plays It Safe" and "Mostly Harmless": - Lisa Smedman's Tails you lose - Walter Jon Williams' Hardwired (absolutely no relationship to the recent movie of the same name)
Maybe I'll start with the former, as it's shorter and more action-oriented, and add the latter if I yet need a break from Adams.

| I loved the Douglas Adams books. It's been a while since I read them. I finished The Girl Who Played With Fire and now much wait until May for the last book. So I'm picking up The Angles's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. | |

| I am in the process of attempting to read every novel that has ever been awarded the Hugo award, Nebula award, or John W. Campbell Memorial award. I'm currently in search of Philip José Farmer's To Your Scattered Bodies Go, but thanks to a busy time lately GMing a roleplaying campaign, and now playing the latest Pokémon game, I'm out of time to read on the train! Yes, I'm 30, why do you ask? --Mike | |
