Possibly, IMG, in which case the cat was smart to smell first, then not eat. Good call - that hadn't occurred to me. Surely it's more possible in a Norway rat - they're a host for so many diseases.

if the cheeta was smart it would avoid the rat all together as it could have fleas that could have a disease
